It’s beginning to look as though our children are going to have to save us from ourselves. Eleven year old, Birke Baehr outlines everything we know about what’s wrong with our food system, but fail to change. If this young man doesn’t inspire you, who will? Perhaps it’s time to support these kids in greater ways and to let them drive some of these challenges we face. They don’t sit around board room tables listing the ways it can’t be done. They see the errors and simply say, “This is wrong. Let’s change this.”

Holy cow this makes me so happy and sad at the same time! What an amazing beautiful child that is going to lead some change!! Thanks for sharing!
That about sums up my reaction as well. These kids stand on stage, in front of TED audiences no less, and tell the world to get its act together. Whew – I get teary-eyed. We should talk more about how to get behind children like this. They have the fire for it. They haven’t been crystallized in the ridiculous bondage adults place on everything. And when you take money out of the equation (which it’s obviously not there for kids) it’s not surprising everything can return to harmony. Ugh. So much to say about all that.
Amazing and I love the fact that he is heard, noticed and allowed to be heard!! That’s something new! There is also one sentence coming to my mind (the one my 5 year old daughter tells me every so often): You don’t decide over me!
Good find and post…hopefully (despite the occasional laughter) we adults are hearing this!
All I have to say is “WOW!”. What an amazing kid! I wish more children thought this way. As someone just getting into the field of holistic nutrition, I am so inspired by the message he is sending. “One kid at a time”…he’s got it! I hope more people see this and listen to him. Just amazing…:)
